Meet The Doula:
Ily Darrow
Ily is a Maine native, however has lived all over the country, growing up as a military kid. She is worldly with a deep understanding and appreciation of various cultures, values, and walks of life. She has been an RN since 2012, specializing in Hospice/End of Life Care. She is very passionate about serving others in her community through a holistic, individualized, and compassionate approach. She is a visionary, longing to bring old-school heart-and-soul care back to the bedside where it belongs. She is intuitive, creative, and driven and views herself as a lifelong student. She believes that life is a journey of self-discovery with endless opportunities for growth. She has two children, a chatty husky, and a variety of interests including: gardening, creating art, writing, traveling, and singing/playing the piano.

The presence of an "interrealm doula" changes the sacred conversation about what it means to approach the end of one's life. A doula works as a bridge between realms, both physically and spiritually. They work in conjunction with clinical care providers, such as Hospice RN's to fill gaps by providing additional support, education, guidance, and companionship to all individuals involved. Through a customized plan of care tailored to each person's unique needs, the overwhelming fear and uncertainty may be eased. This gives precious time back to the individuals, creating space for all to breathe and be... aligned with their own wishes.
